Ever Better Today:
Season 2 Episode 32

 Pedestals

Welcome to Ever Better Today: the daily podcast for creating your optimal business, career, or overall life in ten minutes or less. I’m Lisa Conners Vogt, Executive and Leadership Coach and founder of Ever Better Coaching and Consulting. Let’s jump in!

Notes from this episode are below.

Who do you have on a pedestal and who might have you on a pedestal? Consider that putting that person or ‘you being put up’ on a pedestal can be a bad thing.

When it is bad when you put someone up on a pedestal?

  1. You’re limiting your interactions with them.

  2. You're limiting your relationships with them.

  3. You’re missing out on a chance to connect with them.

  4. You’re missing out on a chance to help them .

  5. You’re missing out on a chance to get additional assistance from them..

When it is bad when someone puts you up on a pedestal?

  1. You feel that you’re in a position where you might have to be super careful about everything you say around that person.

  2. You’re making things up just to look cool or successful.

  3. You’re no longer speaking or showing up with integrity.

NOTE that all of these feelings are your beliefs that can be changed at any time.

So consider those things I have listed above, and consider the image of you up on a pedestal or you having someone else up on a pedestal.
